June 2026 Amazon Results
June was busy, both because of my new Clarendon Playmate book launch: The Secret Stalker and because I was closing down my failed side hustle business. And it hasn’t quite closed down yet but I am almost at the finish line.
So, how did the launch go? I had so much anticipation and build up for Sophies book both because the story was a little different and I could finally reveal my surprise: My real life Mack. I found an gorgeous aussie actor (River Reeves) and asked him to make me mini thirst trap videos that tied into a bunch of scenes. He was awesome. I loved working with him, he was game and I loved what we created. Interestingly it didn’t hit as I’d hoped. People either loved it or quite frankly just didn’t care. Some were actually offended. It’s been an experience from reading my reviews to working with influencers to looking at the behavors of the people from all over the world who hit the MaskedMack website. The best part is seeing just how far reaching my stories are. From every state in the US to every corner of the UK and the rest of Europe, the world and Australia. But my influencers didn’t shout about it as a selling point, so I’m guessing it was a nice to have but nothing to actually talk about. The complete opposite of how I was hoping it would be hit. And there is my lesson. Just because I think it’s going to be a good time, and love the idea, it doesn’t mean everyone else will.
I actually learnt a great deal about this launch. I threw absolutely everything at it and I’m not entirely sure it paid off. So maybe I go back to keeping it simple. And that is ok. I know what is like to work with influencers in the book world, to work with expensive PR houses (who were amazing by the way).
Now, that all seemed like a debbie downer. It shouldn’t be because it was still my biggest launch. It was still a really good time hearing my friends reactions to the stalker surprise and my Mack. I did want to write but I had to beta listen for book three: The Secret Proposal. Gosh I struggled listening to that. I have learnt that I am a terrible sitter and listener. I like to move and listen.
I did get a bit of Sandy’s story in. Regretably my audio file for The Secret Job still hasn’t been accepted by Audible. I uploaded it one week after The Seceret Club. It was pulled up for explicit content in the sample on the 28th May. I resubmitted it and then nothing. I have resulted in emailing voices.inaudio beginning them to chase ACX and ask what is wrong.
I was hoping to have my audio files back to listen to for Sophie’s story but I had a naughty narrator miss the deadline. I’m hoping my PR company hold on and allow me to send the files to them at the end of July when I hope it will be ready.
Ok, here are my June results:
Orders: 519 (thanks to Sophie’s story launch)
KENP: 1,583,839
Amazon Reviews: 1,200 (4.3) - Based on Book One: The Secret Club in the US
Amazon Followers: 1,200
Preorders Book #5: 15
Junes achievement: In my ‘real life’ closing down my business and packing 433 orders which was 32k products. My biggest launch yet with 248 books & ebooks sold for Sophies story. Her book also did over 500k page reads.
Junes lesson: Influencers don’t equal sales.
What will July bring?
Beta listen to Sophie’s story
Hopefully fix The Secret Job and have that uploaded on Audible
Double check beta audio files for The Secret Proposal before signing off and uploading to audible AFTER i have the Secret Job finished
Finish writing The Last Chance Hotel
