August Amazon Results
Ah August, what can I say? It’s been a good steady month. On the first of August I launched an Instagram competition and did a bumper giveaway. It was good, quite successful to some degree and a massive learning curve. I learnt a few things:
1, shipping worldwide is as expensive an if not more then the gifts I am sending.
2, not as many people enter when you’re a baby author and have a tiny following.
3, When you run boosted ads on Instagram, they are a lucky dip. And not the good kind.
What would I do in future? I would have two gifts as the prize and run it as one for the winner and one for her bestie. I can’t say just Australian entries only because my followers are worldwide. In hindsight, it was a far more expensive exercise then I anticipated. But I learnt a lesson. I also gained my first ever bookclub read from it, so there is that.
I was contacted by Ashley from Heatwave in the US, she informed me she had been purchasing my books from Ingham Spark and including them in her smut boxes. I never even knew. How amazing. If you’re in the US - check her website out: https://heatwavebooks.com/
Not a great deal happened otherwise. I never heard back from the influencer I gifted last month. I’m torn between wondering if I completely offended her or she hated my book. I will never know of course. So, I just have to move on.
I did however finish editing The Secret Proposal and finished writing my stand alone book: Women in Warehouse 13. I have a confession here. I have a small business and work in warehouse 13. I often wonder should my life take a dark turn, what might happen in my romantic life when I am surrounded by workmen every day. So there you go, just another wild insight in my brain……
