September 2026 Amazon Results
September has been an interesting month. Sales were decent considering I have had no new releases for a few months now. I had a audio influencer share my most recent audiobook The Secret Stalker which spiked the sales somewhat. I can’t tell for sure, but I look on Publisher Rocket and can see the sales went from $5 a day to a high of $380 a day for a week. Alas that was the highest day and then it went down incrementally from there. And $380 would be amazing but I receive 25% of the daily sales, and then minus another 20% fee for my third party app I have to use to be able to list my audiobooks on Amazon from Australia and well, that $380 turns into $76. And that was my one best day in sales. I think it is going to take me quite some time to recoup the money spent on these audiobooks…..
Anyhow, I actually really loved the videos the influencer Tiffany P Reads created. I do feel like if the Publisher Rocket stats are correct, I will at least get my money back. Which I guess is always the goal. Will I make more? Well, time will tell I guess. I have to wait 1-2 months for the Audible figures to be released. But what I know for sure, she did have an impact. And thats what counts.
I had a weird month in editing / writing. My beautiful beta reader wasn’t vibing with my new book The Last Chance Hotel. And that really set me in a spin and knocked me over. I trust her opinion and was gutted. I originally assumed that maybe the book just wasn’t for her. But she very kindly wrote me a developmental report and so I am going to dive back in, in October to fix it up. I had planned on releasing the book in September but that is looking more like end of October or November unfortunately. But lets be honest, when do plans work out? Will my festive story be ready for Christmas? Honestly, it’s looking like no, not really. But I will do my very best to try!
I also ground to a halt writing my festive story this month. That was a bummer. But maybe I had written almost three books back to back ( in draft), my brain needed a break. So I held up my hands and gave in. The school holidays were at the end of September so I downed tools and took a break. I also went on a long weekend trip to Sydney which was just what the doctor ordered. Ideas came back to me, problems have been (almost) solved in my head. So I don’t really think I got a great deal of anything accomplished this month. I do have three books in the works though: Sandys story is with my editor. The Last Chance Hotel is being rewritten but it has good bones. My festive story is 60/70% written (rough as guts mind you) and is with my beta reader - maybe I call her my alpha reader now. So with that in mind, I have a lot to get on with in October. Good luck to me.
In other news, I signed up for a back tour with The Author Agency for The Secret Club in November. I don’t know when my WIP books are going to be ready for a release, so I figure it would be good to do a back tour so I can sign up with them for Sandys story, whenever that is ready. Unfortunately I don’t think I can afford Hambright going forward.
And now for the good news. The Secret Club tipped over 10mil page reads this month. Thats over 26,000 people who have read it not including the purchases and the free downloads. How wild is that?
On a side note, this month I look over at my 2020 goals on my pin board often and the reality is, they are old and outdated. So this month I updated them. And do you know what is on the top? Get Fit. Why is that what I think about often but never do? Well that changes now. My new goals list is as follows:
Get fit
Become a finalist in the Audie Awards (I entered The Secret Club and The Secret Stalker)
Write a great Christmas novel
To go to Vietnam
Hit 20m page reads in a year
Hit $10k sales months
Have ten books out
Have a US audiobook made ( festive book or Last chance could be a potential)
Finish my playmates series
September Results are in:
Orders: 1,521 (I did the 5 free days on Amazon for The Secret Club, hence the high number)
KENP: 966,706
Amazon Reviews: 1,472 (4.2) - Based on Book One: The Secret Club in the US
Amazon Followers: 1,463
Preorders Book #5: 44
Septembers achievement: Hitting 10 million page reads for. And, I have been consistantly #1 in the UK Amazon Charts for Erotic Thrillers (books). Having that little red banner for over two weeks is pretty awesome and unexpected.
Septembers lesson: My friend pointed out that when people purchase the audio book, they might also purchase the ebook for the immersive read. I hadn’t realised that was a thing, but I think Tiffany not only helped boost my audio sales, she also helped boost my ebook sales. Just an interesting note to remember for future.
What will October bring?
Reworking The Last Chance Hotel and finish it
Pray one of my two audios makes it into the Audie finals. I think that would make my entire life.
Edit Sandys story with my editor
Finish writing my festive story
